KODAVA MARRIAGE

Kodavas marriage have many cultural differences from the other communities in India. they do not call Brahman poojary for marriage ceremony, the marriage ceremony is conducted by their own elders. On wedding day, thick banana stems are chopped with a short Coorg sword to indicate that the groom’s party has fought and taken as many lives for the bride’s hand. Kodava weddings are one of a kind, filled with rich culture, beauty and more importantly eating, drinking and dancing, which is highly enjoyable.

MARRIAGES IN INDIA

Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain Religion Peoples are there in India, Their cultures, dressing styles, are different, in the same way there are many differences in marriage ceremonies. Rather than that there is difference in marriage function from one state to another, one village to another, totally there is minor changes in marriage function and rules and regulations from place to place.

Any mature sensitive view of marriage must be built on the foundation of mature love rather than romanticism.
